Before the course is published and added to the learning path, it is a good idea to add a course description, a course icon and check the basic course settings. You can find the course transferred from Composer in the Content tab of the Gimlet LMS.
If there are many courses, you should use the search field in the course catalog to find the course.
Course settings can be accessed directly by clicking on the course name in the course list.
Extent (see image below) allows you to specify the duration of the course in minutes, so that it is also displayed to the student in the training portal.
The validity period of learning performance can also be set for the course in Validity period of training performance in days. Note that the validity period should be entered in days, not years. When a course performance expires, the user's performance will be reset and the course will revert to a not completed status.
You can also add a description text for your course in the Description section. The description will be displayed in the learning portal in connection with the course.
The course icon can be added under Image (see image below). Open the LMS media bank from the arrow button and select the desired image. If the image has not yet been added to the media bank, it can be added via the Media bank tab or directly from the course image selection screen by clicking Upload image at the bottom of the pop-up window. The image will be displayed in the course menus and on the course page of the learning portal. The image will be scaled to a square. We recommend using a fairly small image resolution, for example 400x400 pixels.
Also make sure that the Content ready option is checked. This checkbox must be selected for the course to be available on the learning portal. If not checked, the course will appear inactive (greyed out) in the learning portal and the user will not be able to open it.
Once the necessary preparations have been made, press Save and close. The course can now be added to the learning path.
