This guide will hopefully give you an overview of the course publication process. If necessary, see the other articles in this section for more information on the different steps.
- Once you have moved a completed course from the content authoring tool, it will end up in the Content/Content tab of the Gimlet LMS, i.e. the Training Catalog. All training materials will appear in this list, but in order to appear to learners in your training portal, will:
- link the course to a learning path and within that path to a phase
- the learning path must be linked to the desired portal
Of course, there can be several portals, learning paths and phases. In the most common cases, there will be one training portal, but it is useful to have more than one learning path and the sequences within them when courses and other training material have already been created for several subject areas.
How then to ensure that only certain people have access to a particular portal and see the desired courses on the portal?
- Access to the portal
- In general, user integration ensures that every learner has access to the desired portal in the first place. If not, add the user as a member of the portal from the Community/Community tab under Members/users

- For learners, there is a class in the learning path, where learners are added either in groups or individually. The latter works equally well, but the group is a convenient way to get all the learners you need in the class at once.
For example, a group can be All/All, in which case it is added to the class in a learning path that has material common to all. A group called "Preferred" includes all those in a supervisory position and can have a separate learning path for them accordingly.
After taking these things into account, you will have the course on the portal and it will be visible to the people who need to see it.
