Editing an image file with the crop tool

The crop tool allows you to make general changes to images, such as renaming them. You can also change the image file format. You can choose whether the changes are made to the original image or if a new image version is created when applying the changes. If you are editing the original image, remember that the changes will directly affect all existing courses where the image is used.

You can perform operations related to cropping based on readily available custom ratios or you can choose custom dimensions. You can rotate or scale the image in relation to the selected crop area and return to the initial situation by clicking the reset button.

The second tab in the crop tool also allows you to edit image metadata, such as the description, alternate text and media categories.

Finally, click Save to save your changes or cancel your changes.
