Modular navigation allows you to deviate from the usual linear course structure. You can create sections in the course that students can complete in any order they wish. Alternatively, you can control the order in which modules are completed by setting prerequisites for them. The settings for modular navigation can be found in the course settings.
General
Start by creating the pages you want to use in the modules in the course structure. You can also add or remove pages later as needed. Module navigation works independently of the overall course navigation: each module has its own view, and progress rules outside the module, such as mandatory assignments, do not affect movement within the module. However, students can always easily return to the main view of the course. Please note that modular navigation does not change the default navigation order. For example, if you want to return to the module menu from the last page of the module, remember to edit the page's navigation settings.
Target page
For modular navigation, select the target page that displays all modules belonging to the section. The modules are displayed in a grid, and you can select the number of columns in the settings. On this page, students can navigate between modules and track their progress in the modules. In addition, you can specify what happens when all modules in the section have been completed: either a text box with the content you have selected is displayed on the target page, or the student is redirected to the page you have specified in the settings.
Settings for individual modules
Each module is given a name, content, and a start and end page. The name and content of the module are displayed in the target page window, from which you can navigate to the module in question. The module includes all pages between the start page and the end page. Under "Execute first," you can select one or more modules that must be executed before this module can be opened.
